Canoe Polo – Year-round
Summary: Canoe Polo is one of the fastest growing sports in Hawkes Bay. We are excited to see Canoe Polo grow at SHC! No experience is necessary, just come along and give it a go. During Summer there are a few tournaments in Hawkes Bay and Palmerston North that teams can enter and at the beginning of March Regional Qualifiers which if successful lead into Nationals. Logistics: Students are responsible for arranging their own transport to and from trainings and games.
Practices: Training is currently on a Sunday from 2.00pm to 3.30pm at the Mitre 10 Sports Park Canoe Polo Facility. Everyone is welcome to come down and give it a go!
Games: Tournaments are played throughout the season and on weekends. Winter league is played during the week during the evening or a Sunday afternoon dependent on Senior or Junior grades.
Uniform: SHC rash top and bike shorts / leggings (black)
Equipment: Some equipment is supplied or can be hired from Canoe Polo Hawkes Bay and this hire fee is included as part of the yearly registration and membership fees.
Sports Draw: All games details are available via the Hawke’s Bay Canoe Polo website and we have a school sports draw with all game details which is updated weekly and will be available on our school sport Facebook page, school sport website and school sport app.
