Football - Terms 2 and 3 


Summary: All girls from years 9-13 can trial for either the 1st or 2nd XI Football team’s dependent on registration numbers. All secondary school girls' Football is played during the school week - usually after school on a Wednesday.


Logistics: Transport to and from weekly games and trainings is arranged for the students via – parents, staff and/or coaches using cars or the school minibuses. In most cases, students are responsible for arranging their own transport to and from trainings and games each week.


Games: Wednesday afternoons – usually 4pm start times at various secondary school grounds or club grounds around the Hawkes Bay region.


Practices: Monday afternoons at Marewa park. Must wear Football boots and shinpads.


Uniforms: Football uniforms are issued to teams. These must be returned to the Sport Department at the end of each season. It is expected that all girls wear their school sports hoodie or school jacket and own black sports trackpants to and from games. For warmth, players can wear white, maroon, or black under-layer underneath their playing top. All players must wear black Football socks over their shinpads.


Equipment: All girls are expected to have their own shin pads, Football boots and x2 pairs of black Football socks.


Sports Draw: All games details are available via the GK Sports website Click here and we have a school sports draw with all game details which is updated weekly and is available on our school sport Facebook page, school sport website and school app.


Club Teams: If your daughter wants to play for a local club she must be playing firstly for a SHC school team. Your daughter also has to get dispensation from the Principal.
