It was a hard but worth it season for the 1st XI hockey team. We played our hearts out in all games and grew so much in ability and confidence. We had hard losses and some good wins where each of us could learn how to improve our own game. I am very proud of the girls and the amount of effort they put into the season.

The 1st XI hockey team was lucky enough to travel to Levin to compete in the Rosemary O’Brien tournament. We were honored to face new teams that we had never faced before from
Northland. The girls played their hearts out in all games while facing some very high caliber schools and, as captain, I am very proud of all the effort that was put in. We were very proud to finish 9th.

I want to acknowledge my girls for stepping up this year to be part of the 1st XI, especially the new players and the juniors that had come in. Through the losses and wins of tournament we were able to keep our head up as a team and were commended by officials on our character that was represented on and off the turf.  Myself along with the girls want to express our thanks to everyone that helped our team get to tournament through fundraising and giving up school and work time to
support us. Thank you to Miss Hocking, Mrs Lunny, Angie, and our coaches
Alvin and Jody for all the effort and commitment you gave us this year to help us be the best team we could be and giving us all the support and laughs we needed along the way. It was truly a great way to end the season with my team.
